There Is Science Behind Learning Through Games
This isn't simply about making school more entertaining. A 2023 meta-analysis published in the International Journal of STEM Education examined 86 studies and 136 effect sizes and found that digital game-based STEM learning produced a medium-to-large positive overall effect (Hedges' g = 0.624) compared with conventional STEM learning.
Other research supports the engagement side of the equation as well. A 2024 meta-analysis involving 2,500 participants across 35 interventions found a statistically significant improvement in students' intrinsic motivation from gamified learning, along with positive effects on students' feelings of autonomy and relatedness.
That doesn't mean every game automatically produces better learning. The educational content and game design matter. That's exactly why Xogos is being built around combining meaningful learning with experiences students actually want to play.
Don't Just Give Them More Screen Time. Make Their Screen Time Count.
Students are already growing up in a digital world. Xogos gives families an opportunity to make some of that time more purposeful.
They can race while practicing typing. Explore underground worlds while discovering geology. Build financial skills through simulation. Study history through strategy. Write and publish stories. Practice math. Explore science. Serve their communities. Earn rewards. And work toward their future.
